Travelling With Pets
Boundary Country welcomes pets with scenic trails, alpine meadows, riverside rest stops, and dog-friendly patios. Most multi-use trails allow leashed dogs, including the Kettle Valley and Columbia & Western Rail Trails. While the terrain is perfect for stretching legs, it’s important to be tick-aware from April through August, and to avoid backcountry zones where bears and other wildlife are more active.

Dog Parks
Need an off-leash space or spot to cool off? From fenced play zones to riverside swims, Boundary Country offers a few standout dog parks. Grand Forks and Christina Lake feature secure areas with shaded seating, water taps and even small-dog sections. A brand new, fenced dog park at the Christina Lake Visitor Centre is set to open in early May!

Pet-Friendly Activities
Dogs can join in on more than just walks in Boundary Country. Ride the alpine chairlift at Big White (with a harness) and roam alpine trails on leash, especially popular during their annual summer Dog Days event. Explore riverside trails, or cool off at one of the dog-friendly beaches at Christina Lake. Several patios are pet-welcoming, offering sunny seating with water bowls and tail wags. Always keep pets leashed on trails and respect posted signage.
