Boating

Getting out on the Water is Easy!

Boating means different things in different places. Here in Boundary Country, it means sunny days on Christina or Jewel Lake. It also means paddling your kayak, canoe or SUP down the Kettle or Granby Rivers. Give in to the lure of the water and leave your busy world and worries behind.

A group of people enjoy a sunny day boating on a sailboat and small inflatable boat on a scenic lake, surrounded by forested hills under a bright blue sky with scattered clouds.

Whatever Floats your Boat

There are a lot of ways you can make a splash. Gather the clan for a pontoon or speedboat ride. Glide across our lakes in style on a SUP, paddling to your heart’s content. Explore the way voyageurs once travelled and paddle your kayak or canoe on our rivers. The choices are practically endless.

Know Before You Go

Before hitting the water, ensure your boat is licensed. Always wear a lifejacket, check weather conditions, and be mindful of other water users, including paddlers. On moving water, understand currents and hazards. Visit dontmoveamussel.ca to see a boat inspection checklist and remember to "Clean. Drain. Dry." to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species.
